A More Human Approach to Productivity | Chris Bailey | TEDxLiverpool
Productivity and time management do not always mean getting up very early in the morning or filling our days with activities. It is so much more than organizing times on an agenda.
Chris Bailey brings a new layer to this time management & productivity map, which is Attention. Our attention is the quantum element for time and energy efficiency, allowing us to be more productive every step of the way.
Technology has brought humanity to a place where we are more productive and working more than ever before. This acceleration reaches all areas of our life.
As we will see in other talks. finding a balance between sleeping, recreation, and taking care of our bodies is in itself the key to productivity, it’s about the balance itself. Once this balance is achieved, we will find what we call “the state of flow” which will allow us to focus on one activity at a time and develop it without any obstacles. Chris put this to the test for 1 year trying to expand the limits of productivity. These are his findings.
Chris found out that as he became more productive, he had less time to meditate until he stopped meditating completely, but he kept working and being productive, by following this path, he experimented with anxiety, he gained weight, and after a few days, he was not able to concentrate for long periods of time until he completely lost his flow. He learned that being able to relax and meditate was as important as the work itself.
It is important that we are aware of our energy and take care of it, otherwise, it will be physically and chemically impossible to properly complete the tasks at hand. Eating well and exercising are frequently obviated and they are the most important elements for taking care of our bodies.
Relaxing our minds and letting go of ideas and worries is paradoxically key in complex problem-solving. We have all experienced this many times, probably while taking a shower or having a long calm walk.
Doing one thing at a time. This sounds simple and easy, sure, but with all this connectivity we are constantly distracted and trying to do multiple tasks at one time. Many people today conduct their business and communicate with employees using WhatsApp or even worse, social media, which is a great distractor on productivity.
Having an exclusive space for work, with all the communication tools ready will most definitely improve our focus and attention. Let’s ask ourselves. What do I want to achieve at the end of today?

The Psychology of Communicating Effectively in a Digital World | Helen Morris-Brown | TEDxSquareMile
Using additional resources for communicating effectively is absolutely necessary for this era of digital communication.
We all know that terrible feeling that our message has not been fully understood. Especially when we try to communicate something in detail, without the proper tools, communication can be challenging.
Helen Morris reminds us about some unconscious processes we might be missing when trying to receive or deliver a message effectively. As social beings, we need to be familiar with the elements we use for communicating, this could be as obvious as using the same language and accent, as well as the way we speak, move, and write, even emoticons.
Trust is a must, if we want to deliver a message, the way we present the message must inspire trust. We need to find common expectations with the people we are communicating with so can build confidence and make it grow by repeating these interactions, this builds trust.
We must accept the fact that communication is not going to be perfect all of the time, but we can manage the risks. By getting to know our communication tools better, we can improve how we communicate. This could mean having an extensive vocabulary, being good at expressing ourselves with our bodies or simply knowing how to write in a clear comprehensive way.
Misunderstandings are more frequent than ever before. This is because when we type instead of having a call or even better a video call, we create a distance in space and time, and we don’t get any live feedback from the receiver.
That is why live video calls are so good, a simple gesture can express so much more than what we imagine. This has been proven several times, we humans are designed for audiovisual interactions, it is just in our nature.

6 communication Truths that Everyone Should Know | Antoni Lacinai | TEDxVasa
Communication tools are great. Antoni Luciani is here to tell us that is not all about just having the right tools, is also about quality communication. Successful teams can only happen when there is quality communication
As a society, the more we consume, the less empathic we become. This deeply hurts the way we communicate with one another, we become more and more anxious as our technology grows faster and takes us further. In the long run, we have become very impatient looking for fast solutions, instant satisfaction, and constant entertainment. All of this has had consequences, for example, according to studies mentioned by Antoni Lacinai, 70 years ago, we had an attention span of 20 minutes and now, we only have 3.5 minutes of real focus and attention.
Being empathic and focused in our communication is vital for success and this is another reason why we should have tools that can provide us with quality communication.
Nowadays we can easily be overwhelmed by the number of communication channels we have available, phones, emails, WhatsApp, and social media among many others. Having a clear space in an all-in-one workspace, free of other channels and distractions can absolutely increase the quality of the communication we are having.

Managing your Time is the Secret to Balance and Life Success | James Ganiere | TEDxFlowerMound
What is the most valuable currency? – Time
Even though we can buy time from others (this is what big corporates do) once we spend our time on something, we can never get it back.
We will hear a common factor we have found in these TedTalks, which is attention. Attention is the quantum leap, the best fuel we can have for productivity and time management. It would appear that anything we focus our time and attention on, tends to grow. We must be present and focused. And for that, we need to focus our time and focus in the way we communicate.
Now time, as well as social skills, can be an amazing investment if taken and nourished correctly, which is why we need to improve the way we communicate with each other. James Ganiere proposes that beyond any profit, the best way of using our most valuable resource, time, is to learn skills of all kinds, especially those that improve our human relationships and our health. And for that, we need to focus our time and focus in the way we communicate. Never stop learning, all companies nowadays should have tools to make their employees better, this could be by having technical and administrative training as well as learning soft skills. Hibox can provide a learning platform for you and your company so you can learn and constantly improve yourself.

How To Multiply Your Time | Rory Vaden | TEDxDouglasville
We are more productive today than we have ever been in the history of humanity. We move faster, communicate faster, we carry a little computer in our pockets, and get more done. And still, the tasks and chores seem to never end. We definitely need our digital tools and technology, those are much needed, there is no question about that, but what are we doing wrong?
Maybe it’s not about time management, but more about self-management.
Rory Vaden proposes an equilibrium between doing things faster and spending more time of our days completing tasks, he reminds us that there is no method or absolutely anything we can do about getting more time, we all live in the same time and time runs at the same pace for everyone.
And this is when a new concept appears, transcending the here and now; multiplying time.
This happens when we take a step back and look at our time and tasks in the big picture. Now saving time has become a task in itself, and this can help us multiply our time available during the day. We can achieve this by either automating any activity we can automate, delegating tasks and responsibilities when possible, or, completely eliminating unnecessary tasks or steps in a task
Complete tasks today that allow you to have more time tomorrow. Efficiency comes when there is nothing else to be removed from a process, that is the optimal point.
This is known as ROTI (Return on Time Invested) automation is to time, as variable income investmentments is to money, that’s the idea.
