Workplace Violence Prevention for Employees

About Course

Most people never think twice about their safety at work — and that’s exactly how it should feel. But workplace violence is more common than many realize, and the workplaces that handle it best are the ones where employees know how to spot warning signs early and feel confident speaking up. This Workplace Violence Prevention course gives your team the practical knowledge they need to recognize risk, respond with confidence, and help build a safer workplace for everyone.

Across two short, easy-to-follow video lessons, employees will learn what workplace violence actually looks like, the different forms it can take, and the early warning signs that often go unnoticed. The course also covers what employers are required to do under OSHA, what rights employees have when reporting a concern, and how to respond if an active threat situation ever occurs — using the widely taught Run, Hide, Fight framework. Finally, employees will learn how to support themselves and their colleagues in the aftermath of a difficult event.

This isn’t a course built to scare people. It’s built to make them feel prepared. By the end, employees walk away knowing exactly what to watch for, who to talk to, and what steps to take — before a situation ever has the chance to escalate.

What You Will Learn

This Workplace Violence Prevention course walks employees through the full picture of workplace safety, starting with the four recognized types of workplace violence and the verbal, behavioral, and situational warning signs that often appear before a serious incident. Employees will learn why early, low-threshold reporting matters so much, and exactly how to report a concern clearly and factually.

From there, the course shifts to policy and action: what employers are legally required to provide under OSHA, what rights employees have if a report isn’t taken seriously, and how to respond physically and mentally during an active threat using the Run, Hide, Fight model. The course closes with guidance on recovering after a violent or threatening incident, so employees know support is available and know how to access it.
